About Gavin

Gavin lives down the street from Magnolia Park and is excited to be involved with helping launch the first c-FOG community garden! Gavin grew up on the foggy coast north of the Golden Gate Bridge and recently moved to Half Moon Bay with his wife and children, ages 5 and 3. Gavin has a passion for converting vacant spaces into green spaces, which may explain his career, which is to practice restoration ecology. He currently works at a Bay Area consulting firm where he manages native habitat restoration projects. Gavin joined the c-FOG board because he wants to contribute to his community, loves to garden, and thinks getting together with neighbors to grow healthy food sounds dreamy. In his free time, Gavin enjoys thinking about surfing, hiking, eating, visiting the green roof at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, and being jumped on by his children. Gavin has a  B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Ecology from San Francisco State University.
