On October 23 from 10AM-1PM, the City of Half Moon Bay enjoyed a strong turnout for their "Imagine Magnolia Park" event. The community voiced clear and strong support for transforming the current empty lots into a thriving park that could include a community garden, reflecting our shared commitment to food sovereignty. Attendees shared many ideas, comments, and requests to consider for the final design of the park, which will enhance future Half Moon Bay events.
The c-FOG Board would like to personally thank all current c-FOG members who came out to show their support, as well as our new Friends who signed up to join the c-FOG member group during the event. Your support continues to be key to realizing our shared vision!
With the community comment event behind us, the City continues to solicit community feedback on Magnolia Park via a dedicated page on their website:
Magnolia Park Improvements
You can voice your support for a community garden AND help fine-tune the final vision for food sovereignty by taking the following actions today:

Then, complete the City of HMB Magnolia Park Survey TODAY!
As a friend of c-FOG, your participation in this survey is immensely important. As of the time this newsletter was drafted, there were 32 responses to the survey from general community members, with 50% voicing support for the inclusion of a community garden in the project. While this is good, as a c-FOG Family we can DRAMATICALLY improve that percentage! Please take 3 minutes today to complete the City's survey.
If you feel so inclined to contact the City directly about the inclusion of a community garden within Magnolia Park, please reach out to Scott Phillips (Associate Planner for the City of Half Moon Bay) at (650) 726-8299 or by emailing sphillips@hmbcity.com.
We have a very strong potential with this location, especially for future Half Moon Bay events, so let’s help the City see that it's the obvious choice!
