The mission of c-FOG is to cultivate healthy soils, food, and community on the San Mateo coast. c-FOG engages our community in the use of earth-friendly gardening practices to expand access to nutritious food for all and promote long-term stewardship of natural resources. Our activities focus on nurturing good health for ourselves and seven generations into the future by employing organic methods, providing educational opportunities, and sharing tools and information within a diverse community.
As an organic community garden, we do not allow herbicides, pesticides and/or chemical fertilizers. Our goal is to create and nurture healthy soil, and thus, healthy plants and people. Healthy food production, security and sharing are fundamental principles we aspire to achieve in our educational and working efforts.
The care and maintenance of the garden is the collective responsibility of all the volunteer members. All potential volunteer members will receive safety training and be required to sign a liability waiver before beginning their participation. Everyone that
participates must follow HMB City Parks rules and regulations.
The community garden will be open to the public 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk and anyone can enter free of charge. There will be weekly planned and scheduled work hours for members, as well. The gate is to remain closed at all times and unlocked during the daylight hours. This is to deter deer and other wild animal potential damage.
c-Fog reserves the right to make changes or exceptions to policies where and when
appropriate. If you have questions, please contact us.
